ABOUT
Pathways to Campus was established in equal parts by passion and a need found in the marketplace. Founder, Carey Kirchmair, is an independent Educational Consultant who is passionate about helping to empower students and parents to confidently navigate their path to post-secondary education.
Carey’s own path to post-secondary education was straightforward. She knew exactly what she wanted to study, did all of the research on potential programs and visited campuses, making sure that she ended up in the program and university that was the best fit for her. However, Carey realized over the years that the journey to higher education was not as clear-cut for most people. In fact, many students struggled with knowing what they wanted to study, or how to go about exploring, researching and evaluating post-secondary programs.
A self-proclaimed research-junkie, Carey began helping friends and family whenever they, or their kids, needed advice and direction with their post-secondary education research. Over the years, the number of programs and the intricacies and number of options within programs have exploded, to the extent that the foray into researching university programs has become increasingly complex, confusing and time-consuming.
With a business and entrepreneurial background, and a passion for helping students, Carey recognized a need for educational counselling and expert advice for students and parents, and Pathways to Campus was founded.
Carey’s genuine desire to encourage and inspire others enables her to connect easily with her students and empower them. She is passionate about helping students to identify and pursue their academic and career ambitions based on their strengths, personality, values and interests.
Carey lives in Aurora, Ontario with her husband and three teenage boys. She loves hiking, reading, travelling, cycling and golf, and enjoys spending time with family, friends and her dog Oscar. She has an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Wilfrid Laurier University; a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from York University’s Schulich School of Business; a Digital Marketing course from Harvard’s Extension School, and is accredited with the Strong Interest Inventory Certification.
